COME AND WORSHIP JESUS CHRIST

REPENTANCE TO LIFE

In the beginning, God gave a commandment to Adam, "Of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die" (Gen. 2:17). God's word was forsaken. Man began to live as he liked, as the result of which he lost God who had been his life. Human race drifted away from God. One who is godless is lifeless and one who has God has life. Noah obeyed all the words of God and God was with him (Gen. 6:9,22). Abraham obeyed all the words of God. He became his God (Gen. 12:4, 22:18, 26:4; Ex. 3:6). God is with whoever obeys His commandments and does what is pleasing to Him. (Josh. 1:7-9; John 8:29). If anyone forsakes the words (commandments) of God, God will leave him (I Chr. 28:8-9).

God gave the law to Israelites by grace, through Moses (John 1:16-17). If they had followed the law, God would be with them. They too would be living-people having God.. That law could have brought them life (Rom. 7:10). However they did not abide by the law (Heb. 8:9). All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23).

God's word came to these people. In the wilderness, John the Baptist told them to repent (Mat. 3:2). Lord Jesus Christ told them to repent (Mat. 4:17). When He died, been buried and rose again and when the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples, the apostles told the people to repent (Act 2:38). Those who heard the voice of John and repented, obeyed the words of John. Those who heard the voice of Jesus Christ and repented obeyed His words. Those who heard the voice of apostles and repented obeyed the apostolic doctrines (Act 2:41-42). Those who had thus obeyed were accepted by God. They began to have God and received life. They had their lives saved. Those who were disobedient and without God, repented from their disobedience by resolving themselves to obey.

The repented people, did so, only towards obedience. They repent with the resolve to obey all the commandments of God. They repent to life as they know that if they obey the commandments of God, He will be with them and they will have life. God grants this blessing not only to the Israelites but also to the Gentiles (Acts 11:18).

God's command is that "Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with their hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need" (Eph. 4:28). The one who still steals is unrepentant and should not be baptized. "Do not let your beauty be that outward adorning of arranging the hair, of wearing gold or of putting on fine apparel but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible ornament of a gentle and quite spirit." (I Tim. 2:9-10; I Pet. 3:3-4) is also a counsel of God. The one who is not willing to obey this counsel is still unrepentant and such a person too should not be baptized.

Baptism is a covenant of good conscience made with God declaring, "Henceforth I shall not live as I wish but in accordance with Your counsels. The old disobedient sinful man is dead and buried through baptism. Here I am. This moment onwards, I am repentant of my disobedience and resolve to obey all Your words" (Rom. 6:1-7; I Pet. 3:21).

A man who preaches to people that they should repent should baptize those who repent, teach them the doctrines received from God, lead them in the ways of God and help them attain glory. He should not run away after preaching (Mat. 3:2,11-12, 4:17, 28:19-20; John 4:1; Acts 2:38-42). As mentioned in Luke 24:47, "that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem", those in Jerusalem and other lands heard the voice exhorting them to repent. Those who obeyed were baptized and walked in the path of God.

Showing the verse, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues and kings" (Rev. 10:11), the Lord has commanded us that, in these last days, the gospel must again be preached to all nations from New Jerusalem Church. Correct clarifications to scriptures and the counsel of God will be given to those who come to us hearing our voice, in fulfillment of the prophesy, "Many people shall come and say, "Come and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths". For out of Zion shall go forth the law and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem" (Isa. 2:3). Because, now "New Jerusalem Church", the church of the Lord is raised above all other churches by God in accordance with the verse, "Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established on the top of the mountains and shall be exalted above the hills" (Isa. 2:2).

'New Jerusalem Church' calls you! Repent. Repent to hear the counsel of God. May the Lord Jesus Christ grant you repentance and the remission of sins (Acts 5:30-31). May He grant you life (John 5:24).

"Many people shall come and say, "Come and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths"" (Isa. 2:3).
