THE NEW JERUSALEM CHURCH

COME AND WORSHIP JESUS CHRIST

What is your caste/race?

The Lord God created man for His glory. When man receives blessings from God and praises Him, He is glorified (Ps. 50:15,23). When man praises God for His magnificent works, He is glorified (Rm.1:20,21). Those who praise Him would be holy, obedient, and acceptable to Him. The (sacrifice) praise of the wicked and the prayers of those who turn a deaf ear to the law of God are abhorred by the Lord (Prov.21:2; 28:9). God is not glorified by them.

The people (generation) who glorify and serve God will be called the people(generation) of God (Ps. 22:30). God chose the Israelites, the generation of Israel, the son of Isaac who was the son of Abraham and God was glorified by them. They were the people of God. They were children of God. (In those days, all those who were not Israelites were known as Gentiles). God chose them and gave them His laws to follow so that they would glorify Him by offering thanks, worship Him and be blessed by Him. The Lord was the Father and God to those Israelites only when they walked in His path (II Cor.6:17,18). However, when they went astray, though they were called by the name of Israel, they were no longer His children but of the devil (John 8:44). As God separated light from darkness, He separated His own people who were holy from others who were Gentiles. Without being Israelites, through their faith in Jesus Christ, people became His children. "For as many of the people as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ" (Gal. 3:26,27).

The names of two races divided by God are: 1. Believers and 2. Non-Believers (2Co.6:15). Thus, there are just two castes/ races in the sight of God. God has commanded that these two castes/races should be separate and should not have matrimonial alliances among themselves (2Co. 6:14-18). God did not create confusion among believers by dividing them into various castes/races. The Lord said: "I am your Father and all of you are brothers among yourselves". The Lord desires that all believers should be united. If they remain united, they will be a strong people. The devil, who is aware of the saying that "a threefold cord is not quickly broken", divides people into countless groups to weaken them. In accordance with the will of devil, the Christians remain separated thread by thread. They do not have divine revelation, and it is certain that they have no communication with God.

Look at the words of a man who received divine revelation: Then Peter said to them, "You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean. Therefore I came without objection as soon as I was sent for" (Acts 10:28,29). "And He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth" (Acts 17:26). Those who have relationship with God, those who have divine revelation, those who have Scriptural clarity and those who believe that the entire mankind are descendants of a single man Adam, will not demean another man saying that he belongs to another or lower caste/race.

A girl living in a small town is accustomed to wearing frock as also others in the neighborhood. She is used to that practice. If such a girl is taken to a village where women wear saree and blouse and is asked to dress like them, it may disturb her greatly and she may even find the habit loathsome. But such a thought is in her alone. Inspite of her inhibitions, if she changes her habit and begins to wear like her neighbors in the village, she turns into a new woman. In a few days, the new dressing practice will not disturb her anymore. Her children are getting used to the more decent way of dressing and they don't bother about it. This is seen in our day to day life.

In the same way, as racial/caste prejudices are firmly implanted in the minds of many, it appears difficult for them to get rid of such feelings. They are also inhibited by the likely reaction of their kith and kin. When a man turns into a true Christian, the old sinful man is crucified, killed and he then becomes a new creature, a new man. Similarly those who believe in Christ become new creatures only when they destroy and do away with the old sinful man harboring caste/racial prejudices. However for their descendants, there is no problem at all, because they grow up as true Christians. It certainly appears that there had never been a true Christian in the families of those who cling to their racial/caste prejudices for several generations.

New Jerusalem Church severely disapproves the caste/racial divisions. Those who are members of the church are aware that there is no caste/racial prejudices here. As New Jerusalem Church is being prepared to be the bride, she does not declare its kindred and its ancestry (Esth. 2:20).
