THE NEW JERUSALEM CHURCH

COME AND WORSHIP JESUS CHRIST

The Holy Spirit

"If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin" (I John 1:7).

"....I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter that He may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him...." (Jn 14:16-17).

"....If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His" (Rom 8:9)

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God" (Rom 8:14)

"....they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance" (Acts 2:4)

"....they prayed for them, that they may receive the Holy Spirit. Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. (Acts 8:15,17)

"....Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit was given ..."(Acts 8:18).

"While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all them who heard the word" (Acts 10:44).

"The believers who came with Peter heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God" (Acts 10:45-46).

"....when Paul laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke with tongues, and prophesied" (Acts 19:6).

"....Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit" (Acts 9:17).

From the above verses, we understand that:

1. Every one who believes in Jesus and obeys God's Word, will receive the Holy Spirit. The world cannot receive Him because it does not see Him nor know Him.

2. When an individual or a congregatin receives the Holy Spirit, others can see and hear (Acts 8:18, 10:46).

3. They will speak in tongues and prophesy.

4. They will magnify and glorify God.

5. Those who receive the Comforter, which is the Spirit of Truth would have been already baptized according to the Truth or they will immediately receive baptism.

6. And they will continue steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine, fellowship, in breaking of bread, and in prayers (Acts 2:42).

One who has not received the Holy Spirit has not yet become a proper Christian.

BORN OF THE SPIRIT

"Every one must be born again of the water and of the Spirit" Jn 3:5.

'The disciples, Samaritans and Saul were saved. But they attained New Birth only when they received the Holy Spirit. This is the Life.'

"Only when a person receives the Holy Spirit, the Lord Jesus Christ comes to dwell within him" (Jn 14:20-23). Those who have not received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the sign of speakin in tongues in accordance with the above mentioned verses have not yet received the life. Since that life is not in them, their falling and rising are not known to others. When a living person is sick or in trouble, others can understand his condition. Similarly, spiritual people can discern the condition of those who have received life through the baptism of the Holy Spirit) by observing changes in their way of speaking in tongues and getting filled in the Spirit. Thus it will be manifested at prayer whether they are upright, or backsliding, or fallen or proceeding forward.

Those who have not received the Holy Spirit pretend as spiritual people, do ministry (with their experience) and worship God, even after commiting presumptuous sins. But in the case of the people who have the Son (I John 5:11-12), that is, those who are filled with the Holy Spirit cannot put on such a hypocritical appearance. Their power will go down. The tongues which they speak will be without form. If they continue in sin, the tongues they speak will cease. Finally, their light and power will come to an end.

FULNESS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

After receiving the Holy Spirit, the fulness of the Spirit is attained by following Jesus after confessing and forsaking sins as and when the Spirit convicts. Obedience to the Word which has been revealed will lead a person to have greater degree of fulness and Godly mind, and he will get grace to be delivered from the nature of sin, to have fellowship with God, to overcome satan, to lead a victorious life and to do a fruitful ministry. As the knowledge of the Word increases, the fulness of the Spirit will abound. As the fulness of the Spirit increases, knowledge of the Word will abound. Now Christ is living. "CHRIST IS LIVING HIS OWN LIFE". THIS IS CHRISTIANITY. THE NEW AND LIVING WAY (Heb 10:19-20).

The life of those who have not received the fulness of the Holy Spirit is an effort of the flesh and is not of the Spirit. That which is born of the flesh is flesh. However the flesh may disguise itself, flesh is flesh indeed. The cotton may have an appearance of silk, but its originality will be manifested after a wash. "Be not deceived; We are not ignorant of satan's devices". The kingdom of God is not in word, but in power" (I Cor 4:20; II Cor 2:10).

SPIRITUAL WORSHIP

Jesus said: "God is Spirit. The hour cometh when the true worshippers shall worship the father in Spirit and in Truth". "We are circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh" (Php 3:3).

There are certain people who come together, discuss among themselves, decide, and worship according to their own counsel. These are the religious people who trust in the flesh. Those who worship in the Spirit, their service being governed by the Holy Spirit are the true Christians. These are the people who truly worship the Father according to His will. They pray in the Holy Spirit (), sing with the fulness of the Spirit (Eph 5:18-20), and walk after the Spirit (Rom 8:4; Gal 5:16). God distributes the spiritual gifts to them according to His will (I Cor 12:7-11). They are guided into all truth and judge all things (Jn 16:13; I Cor 2:15). The congregation of these people is the Church of God.

Those who do not obey God's Word, may speak in tongues, prophesy, reveal secrets and perform miraculous signs. But they are not of the Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of Truth. It is nothing but a group of disobedient spirits of satan. Those who have the gift of discerning the spirits can easily identify them.

"For the promise is unto you and to your children and unto all whom the Lord shall call" (Acts 2:39).

Do have fellowship with God's Holy Church, receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and obtain eternal joy.

"God's kingdom is not meat and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit" (Rom 14:7).

Have you received this joy? (The rest that the Lord describes in Matthew 11:28, Is 28:11-12, "This is the rest"). When you speak with tongues, filled with the Spirit, you will experience rest in your souls. This is the rest, yet the disobedient will not hear (Isaiah 28:12). Have you received this rest?

"If not even today, obey, wait and receive the Holy Spirit which the Father gives in the Name of Jesus, and receive eternal joy".
